Neena,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed viewing your tetrad. I think Skype is a great tool. I've used it for many group projects when I need to collaborate with my group members in real time. I had a few questions about what you stated Skype makes obsolete. You mention that emailing to keep in touch would become obsolete, but I'm wondering about this because to me, Skype is more of a synchronous form of communication. The person with whom you are communicating has to be present at their own computer to receive a call. Email, to me, is more asynchronous and doesn't require the recipient to be there to receive the email. Could you explain for me what your thought process was in including this as something that Skype will make obsolete?
Hi, Neena!
ReplyDeleteSkype’s new move into educational significance has significant implications. The introduction of skype in the classrooms means that teachers can collaborate regardless of their location. The “Skype in the classroom project” is rapidly growing, with teachers sharing thousands of resources. Skype’s impact on student interactions is similarly significant. The ability to engage in Skype videoconferences means that students can link up with other students in real time. Skype in the classroom is a great technology, allowing schools to harness its potential for a dynamic educational experience for both students and teachers.
